Quality Healthcare Staffing Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) in ROCHESTER, New York
Decontaminate, inspect, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment to ensure all items are safe and ready for use in surgical procedures. Organize and assemble surgical instrument trays following prescribed procedures and sterile processing standards. Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners, in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and hospital protocols. Maintain clear documentation and records for sterilization processes and monitor sterilization cycles for quality control. Collaborate with the surgical and nursing teams to ensure the timely availability of sterile equipment. Adhere strictly to infection control protocols to prevent cross-contamination and infection. Experience: Previous experience in sterile processing or surgical services in an acute care setting is preferred. Certification: Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CSPDT or CRCST) is highly desirable. Skills: Knowledge of sterilization and infection control procedures, strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills, and proficiency with sterilization equipment. Communication: Excellent communication skills to work effectively with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals.
