Sr Accountant-Property Management

Summary Purpose for the Position:

The Senior Accountant – Property Management provides comprehensive accounting and fiscal oversight of PathStone Property Mgt operations and direct general ledger processing, labor distribution, property taxes and AP/AR processes. The position is responsible for reporting, analysis, audit preparation, technical assistance to staff and managers. The Senior Accountant – PM position is responsible for the accounting as well as compliance with PM procedures, Subsidy and regulatory requirements.

Requirements (Education, Experience, Certification, Knowledge, Skill):

Position requires Bachelor's degree in Accounting and five or more years experience with; Property Mgt or fund accounting.

Knowledge of all aspects of financial and property management.

Knowledge of IRS and tax compliance requirements.

Experience with computer spreadsheets and Property management software.

Position Responsibilities:

Management of LP and LLC project books and records.

Maintain and oversee project receivables and payables.

Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual required reports.

Analyze and post monthly information to general ledger including A/R and A/P and correcting journal entries.

Position will work closely with and provide oversight and direction to staff, finance staff, agency auditors, and board committees.

Must be able to identify and communicate property trends and projections, and initiate corrective measures.

The position will provide leadership to the A/R and A/P bookkeepers, finance, and property management operations and department.

The Senior Accountant PM position has authority to exercise discretionary and independent decisions subject to annual reviews by the President/CEO, CFO, Comptroller, board committees and agency auditor.

Responsibilities require an individual who is capable of defining a project goal, formulating the management plan, identifying and utilizing the necessary resources, and implementing planned action.

Examples of project management might include; software conversions and enhancements, training manuals, hardware acquisition, revisions to financial systems, upgrades or implementation of new software and spreadsheet solutions.

Preparation of reports to funding sources.

Bank Reconciliations.

Preparation of financial records for audit.

Analyze periodic Property financial reports.

Development of new and improved processing strategies, cost/benefit analysis.

Develop internal control/audit procedures and plans to ensure safeguarding of property assets, and compliance with procedures and regulatory requirements.

Working Conditions/Environment:

Includes routine utilization of computers, calculators and stress related to audit work and deadlines.
