Position Summary:
Senior Director of Nursing and Allied Health Programs (SDNAHP) reports to the President of the College and is a member of the President's Cabinet. While the managerial functions related to curriculum and instruction rest with the Program Directors, the SDNAHP serves as a leader in long-term planning of educational programs, assuring quality of instruction, selection and development of a distinguished faculty, and furthering the strategic plan, the educational master plan, and the goals and objectives of the COHC. The SDNAHP will serve as advisor to the President in matters related to curriculum and instruction, faculty selection, assignment, development, and retention. Additionally, SDAHP manages the Registered Nurse (RN) Program Director, Practical Nurse (PN) Program Director, Radiology Program Director, Surgical Technology Program Director of Clinical Education, and Director of Teaching and Learning positions.

Operational
• Develops goals and objectives that align with the college's strategic plan.
• Prepares budget requests/reports for the President for area of responsibility.
• Facilitates and obtains resources for program development, as well as implementation and evaluation of the programs.
• Supervises the expenditure of funds, e.g., approve equipment, supplies, travel, etc.;
• Provides support for initiatives of the college that may affect the operation of the college, (e.g., performance funding procedures, grant activities).
• Recommends new policies or changes in policies that would enhance the operation of the college.
• Implements a program of continuous improvement in collaboration with President, Directors and faculty.
• Compiles, interprets, and shares data/information that can be used to increase the college's effectiveness and efficiency.
• In coordination with all campus stakeholders, the Senior Director contributes to attaining and maintaining institutional and programmatic accreditations;
• Collaborates with the President and Cabinet members to identify future workforce development and relevant degree and certification programs which serve the needs of the community.

Regulatory Compliance
• Ensures programs meet the regulatory requirements as defined by the New York State Office of Professions, New York State Education Department (NYSED), and the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) and other allied health accreditation agencies.
• Develops and promotes structures, programs, policies, and procedures that enhance effective teaching and learning
• Serve as an arbiter for institutional policy enforcement and a final decision maker for grievances and complaints elevated as necessary from the PN and RN Program Directors.

Academic Program Management
• Develops and implements a comprehensive program management plan for Academic Programs, Clinical Services, and Faculty Professional Development and Training, aligned with the mission and goals of the COHC.
• Leads and monitors the design, development, and evaluation of curriculum, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and industry trends.
• In consultation with the program directors, the Senior Director assigns and manages faculty and staff duties so that equitable workloads are distributed among faculty
• Provides leadership, and performance management oversight of the RN Program Director, PN Program Director, Director of Clinical Education, and Director of Teaching and Learning.
• Leads through influence and emotional intelligence, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment that values equity and excellence.
• With the help of the Program Directors and all faculty and staff, the Senior Director is responsible for the academic annual report and the annual goals within the department.

Faculty and Staff Learning, Development, and Management
• In coordination with the Program Directors, the Senior Director is responsible for recommendations for faculty and staff hiring, merit, equity, promotion, and termination.
• Manages the recruitment, mentorship, and evaluation processes of faculty to ensure a high level of teaching effectiveness, professional development, and retention.
• Maintains a balanced workload policy for department faculty and staff and address capacity constraints when applicable.
• Oversees the design and development of continuous process improvements to programs and initiatives, professional development, and other academic affairs, ensuring that they align with the mission and are scalable and sustainable.
• Works with program faculty and staff to set performance expectations and goals.
• Oversees faculty advisement in coordination with the Program Directors.

Program Execution, Evaluation, and Impact
• Ensures the successful execution of all programs within Academic Programs, Clinical Experiences, and Faculty Professional Development and Training, including monitoring program delivery, quality, and performance.
• Supervises the maintenance and monitoring of key academic performance indicators (KPIs) in coordination with the office of the Senior Director of Enrollment Management and Student Success to measure program impact, student outcomes, and faculty advisor effectiveness. Report on data and insights to the President for institutional evaluation and reporting purposes.
• Establishes and manages processes for ongoing program evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Monitors and analyzes program outcomes, implementing changes as needed to meet or exceed performance metrics and overall student outcomes.

Teaching/Learning
• Provides leadership and support for faculty in pedagogical and instructional practices that enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
• Works with faculty and staff to create innovative and effective learning experiences.
• Provides coaching and engages in professional development efforts of all faculty.
• Teaches in applicable program as assigned.

Other
• Participates in various Board meetings as requested.
• Models professional standards, including customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, and attendance
• Actively engages in professional development to ensure currency with best practices
• Travels to all COHC sites as often as required, weekly and/or daily
• Undertakes additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution of higher learning required.

Required Licensure/Certification:
• Active NYS Registered Nurse license
• Current healthcare provider BLS CPR certification.
• Certified Nurse Educator certification from National League for Nursing Certification within two years of hire, if not already held when hired.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
