RELEASE SERVICES CASE MANAGER

OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION: To provide services including interviewing, verification, case management, monitoring, and treatment intervention planning to clients.

DUTIES OF THE POSITION: Interviewing defendants in the Monroe County Jail and/or the courts to assess risk of flight, and clarify criminal justice related information Facilitating the release of defendants through making written or oral recommendations to the appropriate court Listening to and recording information given in an open court setting regarding defendants and case related information. Maximize success of defendants released from the Monroe County Jail into the community by developing and maintaining rapport with clients during all phases of release and by monitoring compliance with conditions ordered by the court. Monitor the clients progress in the course of treatment/Intervention and make appropriate alterations to plans when indicated Make collateral contacts by phone or writing for the purpose of verification Perform urine screening as needed Make accurate and timely reports to the court of jurisdiction on clients compliance with conditions, both in writing and, periodically, in person at court appearances Maintain accurate and up to date records both manually and on the agency data base regarding client compliance and contracts Maintain strict confidentiality of protected information Make contact with clients in the Monroe County Jail, when indicated Perform any other tasks as deemed appropriate by the administration of Pre-Trial Services Corporation

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION: sitting in a courtroom for up to two hours, broken up with brief periods to interact with defendants, attorneys, or court personnel.
Enter information into the agency database and utilize email for notifications. Extensive use of the telephone for contacting defendants, collateral contacts and courts.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in the field of counseling, psychology, criminal justice or social work with one (1) years of full time, paid work experience in the field of social work, criminal justice or counseling OR Graduation from an accredited college with an Associates Degree in the above named fields with two (2) years paid, full-time experience in human services/criminal justice. OR Any combination of training and experience as deemed equivalent by the Executive Director of Pre-Trial Services
