The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
Serves as Manager of professional fee billing for a multispecialty department. Responsibilities include supervision of business office employees, direction of billing collection, and cashiering operations, coding and compliance requirements and management of professional receivables.ResponsibilitiesJOB SUMMARY: Operations Manager coordinates RIM tasks (Registration Calls; Insurance Verification and Recovery; Quality and Productivity Analysis, Staff Education, Correspondence; Charge Review and Claim Edits). Monitors to ensure registration and insurance updates; insurance verification and recovery, and correspondence (emails and staff messages) are completed according to department standards. Handles technical programming, as well as, provides guidance for RIM personnel to resolve eRecord system issues. Completes testing, approves changes and communicates system related changes. This position will be responsible in part for decreasing registration and insurance denials to enhance annual revenue. Operations Manager is responsible overseeing RIM Specialist and Financial Counselors activities associated with the RIM ACD phoneline, and over 375K insurance coverage verifications monthly. KEY FUNCTIONS AND EXPECTED PERFORMANCES: Under the direction of the RIM Director: TYPICAL DUTIES: - On boarding: 10% Coordinates Training Schedule for eRecord and intradepartmental training Coordinates access to necessary systems (i.e., U of R Intranet, Gatekeeper, HRMS and various Third-Party Websites); and review UR Medicine and RIM policies and procedures - Operational Oversight Weight = 80% Coordination & Supervision: Coordinate, manage and monitors the work processes and workflow of registration and insurance verification, claim edits and charge review. Delegates tasks and is accountable for meeting department standards Best Practices: Identify and improve processes, policies and procedures in support of organizational goals. Formulate and implement departmental procedures, workflow, and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures. Human Resources: Organize recruitment and placement of required staff in conjunction with the RIM Director, and establishes organizational structure and department schedules as needed. Production: Monitor performance and coordinates improvements. Ensure quality of service. Manage quality and employee productivity by accessing and analyzing reports and data. Communication: Assist with managing, coordinating and providing communication between support functions and other internal entities. Has a responsibility to report system, revenue, staffing and customer service changes and impacts to the RIM Director. Payroll: Completes departmental Payroll; approves Vacation and PTO - System Support: Weight = 10% Tests and review new and current functionality of eRecord. Identify and/or troubleshoot technical and functional issues with the Eligibility Vendor. Communicates and initiates the development of new edits and improvements. When resolving system issues this position will work in conjunction with ISD Analysts. Coordinates the implementation of new trading partners brought on-line which includes developing and testing the business rules for each new trading partner. Identify and/or troubleshoot technical and functional issues relating to staff messaging for RIM staff. - Continuous Learning & Compliance: Attends and actively participates in all necessary meetings including staff meetings, compliance and training sessions, etc. Attends Third Party Payer information sessions to maintain knowledge and proficiency, and continue to enhance knowledge base of rules and regulations of third-party billing and the regulations. - Other: Completion of annual health update, mandatory hospital in-service. Understand monitors and follows departmental policies and procedures relating to dress code, vacations and PTO requests along with HRMS documentation. Provides support for Departmental activities and employee satisfaction. Exercising tact and good judgment; oversees operations in the absence of the Director. Performs other duties as assigned.
