Mindex's Product Division is dedicated to creating innovative products from the ground up. They are involved in every step of the process, from software development to sales, training, support, and maintenance. This division includes SchoolTool, New York State’s market-leading Student Management System designed to meet the unique needs of NYS K-12 schools, as well as the Mindex Integration Platform, focused on creating seamless out-of-the-box and custom integration solutions to address business application and process challenges.

We seek a .NET/AWS Software Engineer to join our team.

Essential Functions

  • Assists in determining customer requirements using problem analysis and critical thinking skills; defines and develops clear problem statements that represent customers’ needs and requirements in collaboration with senior team members.

  • Designs and develops technical software solutions including software architecture.

  • Contributes to examining systems flow, data usage, and work processes.

  • Writes and performs testing that aligns with a methodology agreed upon by the team or business unit.

  • Documents each aspect of an application as a reference for future upgrades and maintenance.

  • Identifies bugs and assists the senior team members in the development process to fix bugs and address customer concerns.

  • Understands the importance of software security and assists senior team members in making decisions around security.

  • Assists senior team members in writing infrastructure as code for cloud architecture.

  • Curiosity to learn and advance technical knowledge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

  • Three - five years of experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer in Microsoft .NET and C#, including experience building and consuming RESTful API’s for web services

  • Experience working with .NET Core, Web API, and ASP.NET MVC

  • Working knowledge of common software design principles such Unit of Work and IoC

  • Experience building Web Applications using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and AngularJS

  • Experience with Postman, XUnit, profilers, continuous integration, and GIT

  • Experience with database design, SQL proficiency, performance optimization, and troubleshooting

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment

  • Experience working with Azure Build and Release Pipelines

  • Experience with AWS Technologies such as Lambda, PostgreSQL, Cloudwatch, ECS, RDS, Elasticache, CloudFormation Templates, and implementing observability a plus

  • Experience with Blazor a plus

The band range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, education, experience, training, certifications, internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at, or near, the top of the range for their role; and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The range for this role is $70,000 - $120,000.
