Long Term Substitute Teacher - Preschool
Pay Rates: $145/Day for a current NYS Special Education Certified Teacher $130/Day for all other NYS Teaching Certifications $120/Day for applicants with a Bachelors Degree and are currently working on obtaining their NYS Teaching Certification Employment: School Year - 37.5 hours a week (Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm). Includes a 6-week summer program. This position follows the school calendar. Evening and weekend work maybe required as job duties demand.
Summary/Objective: The Teacher plans and provides educational instruction to young children with disabilities in a pre-school classroom. Creates and maintains a structured and effective program and safe environment that provides for the individual development needs of the children. The Special Education teacher works collaboratively with all members of the classroom, therapists, and psychologists.
Education Qualifications for NYS Special Education Certified Teacher: Bachelors degree in Education with NYS Certification for Students with Disabilities (Birth Grade 2).
Education Qualifications for all other Teachers: Bachelors degree in Education with NYS Teaching Certification or currently working on obtaining their NYS Teaching Certification.
Other Requirements and Work Experience: 1.Experience with young children with developmental delays. 2.Knowledge of child development, developmental disabilities and student learning. 3.Knowledge of content and instructional planning and implementation. 4.Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. 5.Ability to modify classroom activities to accommodate the individual needs of the children. 6.Must have demonstrated commitment to performing job duties and tasks at a high level of performance.
