Plug Power Inventory Control Technician in Rochester, New York

Inventory Control Technician

Status: Non-Exempt (hourly)

Department: Inventory Control

Scheduled: Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

Location: Will support both our 1000 John St and 1025 John St locations

Position Summary

Responsibilities include but are not limited to daily cycle counts of product, ensuring accuracy of inventory records, and investigating warehouse discrepancies. The selected candidate should have the ability to work both in a team orientated environment as well as independently. This role will require strong attention to detail and meticulous accuracy. The ideal candidate must possess a high degree of flexibility, the ability to competently respond to direction and meet scheduling demands, and the ability to satisfy physical demands of the position.Applicants for this position must be extremely safety conscious. Prior inventory experience is preferred.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of inventory locations
  • Utilize computerized inventory systems
  • Frequent lifting, bending and pulling
  • Operation of material handling equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Clear and professional communication with Inventory Control Lead and Manager
  • Occasional operation of hand tools
  • Assist where needed as directed by the Inventory leadership team
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations such as add, subtract, multiply, divide and compute rate and ratio
  • Active participant in yearly physical inventory support, including preparation, execution and wrap up
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational education/training is preferred
  • Driven and self-motivated individual
  • Work experience in inventory control is strongly preferred
  • High degree of organizational skills
  • Ability to work overtime as assigned and commit to a flexible work schedule around manufacturing demand
  • Ability to operate a computer and perform computer transactions accurately
  • Quality focused and detail-oriented
  • Team player with a positive communication style
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time in performance of job functions
  • Must be able to lift up-to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and prior ERP experience preferred
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team atmosphere
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Role model for high standards of professionalism
  • Results-oriented and driven work style
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations
  • Flexibility and ability to travel between sites as required

Pay Rate:

$16.20 - $21.40
