Since 2013, our site Unither Manufacturing LLC. based in Rochester (NY), specializes in the manufacture of Blow-Fill-Seal, Liquid Stick-Packs, Pharmaceutical bottles, Tablets and Capsules. It has more than 280 employees.

Your role

Reporting to the HR & HSE Director,

A. JOB SUMMARY:

This position provides HR services to managers and employees, including all aspects of staffing, employee relations, performance management, and special projects or initiatives. Provides one-on-one assistance, interprets and advises on company policies, procedures, and practices. Investigates complaints and/or issues effectively and timely. Interprets and ensures compliance of the law and policies. Escalates issues to appropriate individuals as needed. Makes recommendations in developing policies, procedures and/or training. Conducts exit interviews to employees who voluntarily resign. Identifies continuous improvement opportunities and performs gap analysis for our current and future needs as we grow and evolve the business with solution generation ability.

B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Talent Acquisition

Sources candidates for vacant positions, screens applications and when requested, conducts interviews. Forwards qualified candidates to the hiring manager. Ensures that candidate pool is diverse and coaches managers on diversity initiatives.

Ensures positive employee experience during full cycle process including on site interviews, pre-employment and onboarding.

Partners with hiring managers on job offers. Evaluates issues related to internal and external equity when considering appropriate offers.

Conducts/Presents Human Resource information in New Employee Orientation sessions. Responsible for modifying this program as necessary to improve its effectiveness.

Represents the company at Job Fairs and other external events to promote Unither as an employer of choice. Keeps up to date on recruiting methods to generate qualified candidates. This includes networking and professional organizations to generate qualified candidates.

Conducts exit interview and documents results.

Assistance with and backup for administrative HR functions.

HRBP

Site HRIS administration.

Assists in the development of tools/ systems/ communications to provide effective/efficient service.

Designs communications to increase employee understanding of HR systems and processes.

Facilitates HR policy & process updates by ensuring compliance, understanding, and appropriateness.Communicates policies and practices to ensure employee and leader understanding.Provides interpretations as needed and drives consistency.Ensures that end products do not compromise HR management principles or the goals of the organization.

May be asked to develop HR policies and creates procedures that reflect corporate and legally compliant programs with related communication materials for employees.

Participates in HR project teams for process improvement or organizational improvement.

Monitors external changes in law, policies, and practices to define and confront risk to employees and the business.Ensures advice to customer groups includes identification of potential human resources risks (e.g. EEO issues).

Drive all aspects of new hire HR topic training programs beginning with Orientation and Onboarding of new hires, providing them all of the training needed to enhance their effectiveness and understand the organization’s people practices and processes.

Facilitates HR driven training and development as needed (NYS Sexual Harassment, policy changes, effective interviewing, etc).

Participate in maintenance of the site performance management tool (IRIS); primarily the competency model for performance, job descriptions, and supports user questions.

Drives performance management process per annual cycle.

Coaches managers in conducting appropriate corrective actions and terminations.

Intervenes in sensitive areas that cannot be handled as effectively and without legal risk by line management (e.g. harassment cases, management abuse, human rights situations, illegal acts by employees.)

Investigates and advises both management and employees on employee relation issues related to salary, promotion, disciplinary action, terminations and harassment.

Provides managers with council in dealing with employee performance issues.

Your profile

C. REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Industrial/Labor Relations, Organizational Psychology, or closely related field is required.

PHR or SPHR, SHRM-CP or related is preferred.

D. QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Demonstrated experience in recruiting, employee relations and other generalist responsibilities required.

E. SPECIFIC SKILLS:

This position requires the ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization. An

individual must be extremely organized and able to effectively prioritize and multi-task. Having a customer service mindset is critical in this role, as is the ability to effectively contribute in a team environment. As this position has access to confidential data on a daily basis, this position also requires extreme discretion. This position must have the ability to objectively solve problems on many levels. The problems vary in nature from routine to complex employee relations issues with many people and perspectives. Decisions often have to be made “on the spot” which requires not only knowledge of HR rules and regulations, but also cultural awareness.

F. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ENVIRONMENT:

• Frequently required to travel to other locations in the facility to meet with employees.

• Sitting 75% of the day; walking 25% of the day.

• Lifting requirements are slight and related primarily to files.

• Finger dexterity required to operate computer keyboard.

• Hearing at a level to enable one to hear normal conversation.

• Visual requirements of having the ability to read the computer screen, documents.

• Traditional office environment. Some production area exposure.

• Frequently subjected to irregular hours.

• Frequently subjected to pressure due to time demands.

• Infrequent travel.

Compensation range

80,000.00 - 95,000.00 USD

*The referenced compensation range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
