Description
The nationally recognized Medicine in Psychiatry Service (MIPS) division of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry invites applications for a full-time Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or Medicine-Pediatrics physician to serve as both a hospitalist physician and an outpatient primary care physician helping to care for the medical needs of individuals with severe mental illnesses using a team-based care model. Physicians work closely with an interdisciplinary team that includes a psychiatrist, pharmacist, social workers and advance practice providers as well as peer specialists and substance use counselors.
This full-time position includes an academic appointment with University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry at the rank of instructor, assistant or associate professor, commensurate with experience and accomplishments, and ample opportunities for faculty development within a robust tradition of mentorship. Teaching and clinical supervision of psychiatric residents and fellows, medical students and other trainees is an integral part of this position, along with involvement in process improvement and program development. The position would be in our Inpatient Medicine in Psychiatry Division and include working a seven day on – seven day off schedule.
As part of this role, the physician will have a primary appointment with the department of Psychiatry and a secondary appointment with their respective departments of Medicine or Family Medicine, depending on postgraduate training.

Compensation includes an excellent, nationally competitive base salary, with bonus/moonlighting opportunities, loan forgiveness program, annual CME allotment, and generous benefits package through the University, including a retirement program and tuition benefits.

Assistant Professor $231,800 - $306,173
Associate Professor $254,874 - $336,035
Qualifications
Must be a NYS licensed physician prior to start
Must be board certified or board eligible in either Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or Medicine-Pediatrics
Must have an unrestricted DEA prior to start

The referenced pay range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries.
