Opportunity:
The Design Engineer Mechanical will help our clients build and operate sustainable buildings by focusing on engineering of heating, cooling, ventilation, and plumbing systems. Working with architects and building owners under the guidance of a Professional Engineer to translate owner needs into a building design that is buildable, cost-effective, and sustainable.
Responsibilities:
Calculate heating and cooling loads; and ventilation rates (Carrier HAP, Trane Trace, Excel)
Lay out ductwork, piping and equipment using AutoCAD & Revit software
Duct and piping pressure loss calculations
Code review utilizing IBC and state-based building codes
Experience with industry standards (ASHRAE, ASPE)
Survey buildings: take photos, measurements, assess equipment
Answer construction questions relevant to your designs
Visit construction sites to observe construction progress and compliance with documents
Develop reports and other narrative materials describing design or construction work
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from EAC/ABET certified school
2-5 years of applicable experience
Experience in HVAC or plumbing design
Engineer in Training certification or PE preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to work well in a team environment
