Empowering People's Independence (EPI) provides support for people with developmental disabilities, epilepsy, and brain injury through progressive, tailored care to improve their health, wellbeing, independence, and social inclusion.

Job Purpose:

The Community Hab DSP role is primarily responsible for supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities as they become further integrated into their communities. You will use your training daily, in addition to your own knowledge and skills to support and guide people toward a healthy and safe lifestyle of their choosing.

Essential Functions:

· Ensure ongoing health and safety for the person being supported.

· Support, train, and guide people as they socialize, make purchases, volunteer, exercise, or engage in other community-based activities of their choosing, guided by the Person-Centered Planning process.

· Provide transportation as deemed appropriate for the day’s activities.

· Complete online documentation which meets all OPWDD regulations in a timely manner.

· Report all incidents to the Program Supervisor and agency QI Team.

· Other duties as assigned within scope of practice.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED

    Qualifications:

    · Valid & current NYS Driver’s License

    · Must have vehicle as job requires transporting person supported via personal automobile

    · Familiarity with computers; documentation is web based

    · No experience necessary, although previous experience in the field of intellectual/developmental disabilities is preferred.

    Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

    Pay Range: $17.25-$20.50/hour
