Description
Olivia Quinlan from Robert Half is inviting applications for the role of Cloud Engineer based in Rochester, New York. This role is pivotal in designing and implementing cloud and hybrid IT solutions, integrating customer’s on-premises network with cloud environments. The role also necessitates extensive documentation, knowledge transfer, and on-site customer support with a cloud-centric focus.
Responsibilities:
• Design, configure, test, and deploy cloud and hybrid network solutions.
• Focus on Identity Management and MFA solutions.
• Troubleshoot networking issues and provide input on new technology.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for cloud solutions.
• Visit on-site to troubleshoot and repair networking equipment with a focus on cloud infrastructure.
• Demonstrate advanced understanding of cloud technology.
• Troubleshoot networking issues, routing, speed and QoS issues.
• Provide SME training as needed.
• Configure and support Entra/AD, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and other common technologies.
• Exhibit networking experience including IP Addressing/Subnetting, VLANs, Port Aggregation, DNS, DHCP, RDP, LDAP, Palo Alto, and Cisco.
• Apply MFA, SSO, and federated identity technology experience.
• Familiarity with Cisco, Meraki, HP equipment, and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Support and troubleshoot server-based software issues on newer Microsoft platforms and some knowledge of Linux server environments.
• Proficient in troubleshooting end-user identity and MFA issues.
• Ability to build Cloud infrastructure, including but not limited to Azure VM’s, Azure VPN’s, Entra ID & Microsoft Intune.
• Define and implement Role Based Access Control policies.
Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Cloud Engineer
• Proficiency in Cloud Technologies and Automation
• Demonstrated knowledge in Configuration Management
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI) processes
• Experience with Checkpoint is desirable
• A+, Security+, Network+, Palo Alto certifications including PCNSA required, (PSNSE preferred).
• Checkpoint CCSA, MCSE, AZ-104 and AZ-700 certifications and Cisco certifications including CCNA, CCNE, CCDA are preferred.
• Solid understanding of IP Addressing and VLAN
• Proficiency in DNS, DHCP, RDP and LDAP
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware ESXi, and/or Proxmox is preferred.
• Basic understanding of Linux server environments.
• Proficiency in MFA, SSO, and federated identity technologies is advantageous.
• Familiarity with SonicWall, Palo Alto, and UniFi networking equipment is preferred.
• Experience with networking hardware from Cisco, Meraki, or HP is desirable.
• Knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V is beneficial.
• Capable of supporting and resolving issues with server software, including Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and newer, Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, PowerShell, major antivirus solutions, and enterprise-grade backup systems.
• Competence in troubleshooting and resolving complex end-user identity and MFA-related issues.
