The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

Serves as the administrative deputy of a dean, director, the chairman of a major academic department, or the head of a medical research program.Responsibilities GENERAL PURPOSE: The Manager, Business Administration will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining an accurate understanding of the otolaryngology market (in Rochester, the Region, and beyond) and using this data to implement data driven decision making. Areas of focus will include market analysis, referral tracking methods, leakage analysis, and understanding of current operations and opportunities to improve efficiency. Responsible for business development and lean initiatives. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Develop and maintain tools to understand the otolaryngology market (current status, areas of opportunity, competition) and use these tools to implement data driven decisions. This will include but not be limited to market analysis, referral tracking, and leakage investigation. Responsible for strategy coordination and oversight of and internal & external communication messaging developed by the Communications Specialist. - Maintain and monitor statistics related to work volume, productivity, and other relevant factors to initiate operational adjustments. Uses objective data to initiate, monitor, and modify (as appropriate) operational changes, improvements, and lean objectives. Conducts assessments to maximize operational efficiency and effectiveness. Continually reviews administrative and operational functions to further define and develop process improvement. - Develops operational budgets and manages expenditures. Establishes guidelines for distribution of expenses. Controls expenses and property. Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and understands the impact of operational decisions. Prepares operational budget reports and tracks financial records. Identifies and implements opportunities for reducing expenses and improving process efficiencies. - Facilitate development of new and expanded services including new programs, service-lines, and satellite locations based on data driven analysis. Responsible for project development and management of new clinic facilities and upgrades/alterations to existing sites. - Responsible for employment actions including hiring, firing, promotion, demotion, disciplinary action, and other related HR functions. - Uses objective data to initiate requisitions and represent the department in obtaining more support services (e.g. incremental FTE requests), capital equipment and/or supplies based on new procedures or volumes, technology changes or replacement of systems. - Responsible for communication, coordination, and initiation of mutually agreed upon initiatives with representatives from Patient Financial Services (PFS) and department's Revenue Cycle Advisor & related UBO representatives to understand current processes and initiate improvements (e.g. improvement in collection and distribution of funds for self-pay cosmetics). Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree and 5 years relevant experience including at least 2 years at a managerial level; or equivalent combination of education and experience required - Master's degree, equivalent course work, or specialized experience in an appropriate field related to the assignment is desirable preferred. - Strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities required. High degree of flexibility and learning agility required.
