Robert Half Accounting Specialist in Rochester, New York
Description We are in search of a dedicated and meticulous Accounting Specialist to join our team in Rochester, New York. This role primarily involves transactional duties and offers the possibility of growth based on your experience. The role encompasses full cycle Accounts Payable, assisting with month-end close, bank account reconciliation, and some Accounts Receivable tasks. You will also assist the Controller with special projects.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the full cycle of Accounts Payable
• Assist in the month-end closing process
• Reconcile bank accounts accurately and timely
• Handle some Accounts Receivable tasks
• Assist the Controller with special projects
• Maintain and update accounting records and files
• Analyze budgets and create expense reports
• Examine tax policies and handle tax payments and returns
• Meet with clients to discuss confidential accounting issues
• Post customer checks, vendor payments, and bank transactions.

• Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk or similar role
• Familiarity with basic Accounting principles
• Professional manner and strong ethical code
• Ability to multitask and remain motivated and positive
• Commitment to working efficiently and accurately
• Hands-on experience with Accounting 2000 software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to spot numerical errors
• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
