Benchmark Electronics Quality Technician II in Rochester, Minnesota

Summary: The Quality Technician verifies processes and manufacturing instructions to produce quality product that meets customers' requirements. Executes established procedures in verifying and assuring quality processes and manufacturing standards. Performs data collection, analysis, and data verification and charts and graph preparation. Responsibilities: * Completes the Quality section of the Manufacturing Readiness Review. * Implements Quality Management Plans. * Monitors process control limits. * Assists product engineers in the maintenance of inspection procedures, audits and stock/floor purges. * Assists with operations on process improvements and process optimization. * Assists Engineering in the generation of weekly and monthly inspection and test reports for Business Units. * Reviews inspection and test reports for areas of process improvement. * Performs preventive maintenance (PM) equipment and process/equipment troubleshooting * Inspects, measures, and tests mechanical, electrical and electromechanical components and assemblies * Verifies material conformance to specifications. Interprets company and industrial specifications. * Gathers and maintains specific records of technical data related to materials, tools, fixtures and processes used in company * Creates and maintains inspection plans, logs and reports * Compiles reports using information gathered from quality, manufacturing and research projects * Develops measurement processes * Collects and analyzes data using statistical analysis methods * Communicates quality data to employees and management * Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Builds productive internal/external working relationships * Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. * Maintain Process Feedback (PFS) data and tables and provide ongoing support to all PFS users * Analyze data and resolve discrepancies * Complete test yield charts, Defects Per Unit (DPU) charts, etc. in support of quality engineers * Provide ongoing Quality System administrative support in the training area, on-line documentation and internal audit program * Maintain critical item lists in support of Quality Engineers * Develop and maintain Opportunities for Error (OFE) for all assemblies * Provide Parts per Million (PPM) reporting and analysis for all products * Notify departments when reviews are due * Assist with ECO sign-off Other information: * 5+ years of experience; ASQ certification preferred; Ability to effectively train diverse groups; Good analytical skills; Ability to assimilate to a wide range of data and form conclusions * 2 year Engineering or Technical degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Effective interpersonal skills * Effective multitasking skills and the ability to take on additional responsibilities as required * Effective organization and prioritization skills * Demonstrate high attention to detail * Ability to work wi h diverse groups * Demonstrates discretion, confidentiality, independent judgment and professionalism. * Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance, exercising discretion and independent judgment. * Understanding of and ability to use continuous improvement tools. * Strong customer service and client focus * Working knowledge of productivity tools, including Microsoft Office products and WebEx conferencing software * Effective multitasking skills and the ability to take on additional responsibilities as required * Ability to support a 24/7 global business operation as required * Ability to work overtime when needed * Ability to work with diverse groups * Accepting of opportunities to train on new equipment and to cross-train into other site operations, as needed * Participate in a continuous improvement activity Education: 2 year Engineering or Technical degree preferred Geographical Location: Minnesota:Rochester Physical Location: Rochester, MN Shift: Shift 1 Work Schedule: M-F 0800-1630 Full Time Export Control: This job position may include access to controlled information or technology covered under applicable U.S. export control laws.
