General Purpose:
Provide analysis, review and approval of incoming raw materials and packaging versus specification to ensure they are meeting the requirements.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyzing materials against specifications, policies, programs and procedures of Kemps.
Review and compare material and packaging labels against previously approved labels.
Provide that Certificate of Analysis' are received and reviewed against specifications for each incoming lot of product.
Reviewing product condition upon receipt to ensure damage or tampered product is not received.
Aiding the warehouse employees with investigations regarding raw materials.
Assist "hold and release" program for finished product at outside warehouses.
Assist with daily inventory verification of critical food safety holds.
Communicate product releases upon testing approval.
Assist with Preparing samples and coordinate shipping to outside testing vendors.
Assist with environmental and pathogen sampling at locations according to Pathogen Environmental Monitoring (PEM) program.
Communicate with vendors and/or vendor representatives when information is incorrect or missing.
Assist with daily paperwork verification and employee Quality Assurance training.
Participate in internal audits and calibration verification activities.

Education and Experience
Associate's Degree in biology, chemistry, or food studies
1 years of experience working in laboratory setting
Certification and/or License
May be required to obtain and maintain other certifications and/or licenses for continued employment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite , especially advanced use of Excel
Skill in organization and prioritization
Able to work with accuracy and attention to detail
Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
Able to effectively analyze and interpret data
Able to perform task and duties without constant supervision
Able to handle challenging or conflict situations with tact and professionalism
Able to read, write, and speak English
