Medical Insurance Paid Time Off Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Basic Life Insurance Tuition Reimbursement Employer Paid Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability Adoption Assistance Plan Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy Minimum of bachelor's degree Current State of Minnesota pharmacy license BLS certification Job Responsibilities: Reads and interprets clinicians' orders and ensures appropriate dispensing and follow-up. Evaluates medication orders for appropriateness and makes recommendations based on their evaluation. Therapeutic drug monitoring, pharmacokinetic dosing, and anticoagulation monitoring skills. Consults with and provides information, in-services, and guidance to various other healthcare professionals concerning medications. Obtains medication histories as part of the medication reconciliation process. Participates in daily care rounds. Responds to CPR procedures (codes and alerts) during pharmacy hours and maintains at minimal BLS certification. Ensures that pharmacy inventory is maintained and properly secured. Procures non-formulary items after exhausting formulary alternatives to provide optimal drug therapy. Directly supervises and delegates pharmacy technician responsibilities. Participates in and supports hospital committees. Participates in departmental and hospital performance improvement activities to promote quality in the medication use process. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Assists the department in maintaining compliance with accreditation standards. Maintains competency as required by professional standards. Works on special projects as assigned by the director. Observes all OMC policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws. Other duties as assigned.
