The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a senior technician in the Outbound Assignments Section, serving as the final review authority for all relocation actions for officer and enlisted military personnel. Also, serves as the passport agent for Active Duty military personnel and their dependents. Responsibilities Performs the full range of tasks for assigned areas such as assignment, enlistment, reenlistment, promotion, awards, performance evaluation, routine boards, separation, or similar actions and performs a substantive review of records to determine eligibility for actions Serves as a technical authority on all elements of active duty military personnel specialties and reviews reports, forms, documentation, and other related information concerning Air Force members and reviews/constructs/maintains military personnel records on all assigned areas Serves as the primary source of information regarding a wide variety of entitlement, allowance, and indebtedness actions and processes actions through military personnel data systems Reviews products to identify and correct mismatches data in system and to ensure projections and confirmations have consummated and required actions have been taken tin the Personnel Data System Uses a variety of office automation hardware, software, and peripherals to perform miscellaneous administrative duties, special actions and other clerical support work pertaining to assigned area of military personnel Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NK-01, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in other pay systems. Experience includes advising on eligibility requirements and processing procedures on assigned military programs. Applying knowledge of the format, content, uses and coding of the personnel records and supporting automated personnel system sufficient to enter personnel action data, correct errors and generate periodic reports. Serves as the Passport Agent for all active-duty military members and their dependents by serving as a liaison between the Department of State and Department of Defense for passports, ensuring appropriate directives are followed and assist personnel in the completion of audiovisual requests for passport photos. Advising program lead, supervisors and military members of military personnel program issues. Provide briefings on program requirements and program metrics/statistics. It may have been gained in the private sector, volunteer service, military service, and/or government service, etc. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing Knowledge of overall missions, function, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance Knowledge of organization concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition, supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly and concisely, and with accuracy, and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues. Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem resolution Skill in interpreting and applying complex DoD, USAF, AFMC, and AFSC regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
