Volunteers Of America of Minnesota School Based Mental Health Therapist - Robbinsdale in Robbinsdale, Minnesota
Full-time Mental Health Therapist. Providers will earn benefits and work full-time during the school year with a possibility of a slight decrease in hours during the summer, determined annually based on caseload and need from school districts. Full-time employees will remain eligible for benefits year-round, despite hours reduction during summer. Volunteers of America (VOA) is seeking passionate, energetic, culturally humble therapists to partner with schools to provide school-based mental health therapy to K-8 students in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. The schools understand the importance of quality mental health care in their school community and are eager to welcome mental health providers to provide therapy services as an integral component of building safe and supportive schools. Provide comprehensive clinical diagnostic assessment, individual and family psychotherapy, and clinical management to address emotional, behavioral, and mental health issues of child and adolescent students. Participate in case consultation and provide input to the multidisciplinary team, representing the disciplines of social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or clinical counseling in the client s treatment plans. Serve as an expert in the mental health of children and adolescents on the school's team. Complete all related clinical documentation and data reporting for assigned clients in a professional and timely fashion. Willingness to provide in-home therapy when needed. Ability to provide day-to-day outreach in school to teachers regarding the emotional and behavioral needs of students. Ability to provide presentations on topics related to mental health to school staff upon request. Provide in-person services at the school and telemedicine services remotely, shifting between methods as determined by each school's learning model or client preference. Collaborate with other service providers including opportunity to collaborate with internal VOA programs such as case management, high fidelity wraparound, and functional family therapy to provide system wide mental health services to clients and families.
