We are seeking a highly skilledIndustrial Controls Technician to join our team at F&S Fresh Foods- Riverside CA location.This role is critical to ensuring the seamless operation of electrical and control systems throughout the facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagnose issues in safety systems, and perform maintenance on various automated control systems. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic food manufacturing environment, ensuring optimal system performance and compliance with safety regulations.

What You'll Do:

Electrical Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical control systems, motors, drives, PLCs, HMIs, and sensors within the manufacturing facility. Review and interpret electrical schematics to identify root causes of electrical failures and resolve issues efficiently.

Safety System Maintenance: Troubleshoot and maintain critical safety systems, including emergency stop circuits, light curtains, safety relays, and other devices to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards.

PLC & Control Systems Support:Program, configure, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and SCADA systems. Perform routine diagnostics and update PLC programs as necessary to optimize system functionality and address process changes.

Installation & Upgrades:Assist in the installation of new control systems, sensors, and automated equipment, as well as upgrading existing systems for improved efficiency and safety.

Collaboration & Communication:Work closely with production teams, engineers, and management to address issues affecting production lines. Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements, including identifying opportunities for automation or system enhancements.

Compliance & Documentation:Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs performed on electrical and control systems. Ensure all work complies with industry regulations, including electrical safety codes, food safety standards, and company policies.

Dynamic Challenges:Tackle additional tasks and projects as needed, adapting to the evolving demands of the facility.

Requirements

What You'll Bring:

Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical degree or certification in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related field is preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical troubleshooting and controls maintenance, preferably in a food manufacturing or industrial setting.

Technical Skills:Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control panels, motor controls, and instrumentation. Hands-on experience with PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and other industrial control equipment. Familiarity with safety systems, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), safety relays, and emergency shutdown systems.

Problem-Solving Skills:Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with team members, production staff, and management.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting repairs, maintenance, and system changes.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with food processing equipment or within a regulated manufacturing environment. Knowledge of Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar PLC platforms. Familiarity with SCADA systems and automation software.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, temperature variations, and industrial machinery. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
