Edwards Lifesciences Director of Finance, Corporate FP&A in Riverside, California

Edwards Lifesciences is offering an exciting Director of Finance opportunity in our Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis department. Reporting directly to the Vice President of FP&A, this leader will provide a challenging, rewarding and learning environment for the Corporate FP&A team. In this role, the individual will both ensure the team provides continuous improvement in our financial planning process across monthly forecasts, annual operating plan, and strategic plan, as well as provide world-class business partnership to our corporate, business, and regional finance partners. This role involves significant interaction with executive and senior leaders.


  • Lead the global annual operating plan as well as the monthly forecasts; identify and assess financial risks and opportunities relating to Edward’s short and long-term objectives.

  • Oversee the preparation of key presentations for the Board, ELT (Executive Leadership Team), SLT (Senior Leadership Team) and employee meetings; ensure that content reflects accurate financial updates and provides business insights.

  • Perform corporate financial analysis, identify trends and issues and make recommendations for action as needed.

  • Direct efforts to improve planning processes and systems to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information as well as high level of user experience.

  • Analyze, formulate and deliver business insights to advise and guide executive level leadership; develop and deliver executive level communication across functions that impact multiple areas of the business including partnering with key stakeholders (e.g., Investor Relations, Treasury, Tax, and Strategy).

  • Direct budgeting, forecasting and analytical processes and activities through lower management levels while establishing financial strategy, developing corporate and/or organizational policies and authorizing their implementation.

  • Develop a robust strategic talent development and succession planning in alignment with functional growth strategies across the global finance organization.

  • Set overall global financial strategy including efforts to optimize processes by assessing needs and developing, proposing and leading implementations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Strategy

  • Experience within a large, global, manufacturing organization

  • Understanding of the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows

  • Working knowledge of treasury, corporate tax, foreign exchange, or SEC reporting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, or related field

  • Related professional certifications such as CPA, CFA

  • Medical device or healthcare industry experience

  • Prior experience in investor relations, strategy or business development

  • Proven leadership skills

  • Demonstrated ability in successful people management

  • Strong business acumen

  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment

  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of competing priorities

  • Problem-solving, process improvement, analytical and collaborative skills

  • Proactive, self-motivated

  • Strong communication skills

  • Advanced MS Excel, and PowerPoint proficiency

  • Advanced financial system experience
