Job Summary

Location: Detroit, MI Entry level engineer responsible for technical work, regulatory reporting, site inspections, interpretation/application of environmental regulations and permit conditions and implementation of environmental programs. Requires standard application of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Technical assignments are in the form of design, problem solving, and technical support for the optimum operation and maintenance of company assets. Participates in teams of field employees, technicians, engineers, and other personnel.

Key Accountabilities

Works under and/or seeks guidance of experienced professionals to recommend and implement timely solutions involving engineering, design, operation, and maintenance of company assets Collaborates with more experienced engineers to provide follow-up and engineering assistance on defined problems within time and budget constraints Uses engineering skills and techniques to develop compliance options and analyze data in order to recommend solutions and/or improvements in processes and programs Provides field inspections/observations, engineering assistance and technical support Keeps up to date on current regulations applicable to projects and facilities supported Ensures environmental regulatory compliance by monitoring, reporting, developing, and implementing procedures Performs and recommends solutions for environmental issues based on investigations, current industry practices and consultation with experienced professionals Assists with the review and interpretation of environmental regulations and proposed regulatory changes to assess impact and ensure compliance Assists with the representation of the company on environmental issues with regulatory agencies and industry groups Demonstrates an ability to coordinate and effectively conduct environmental training Completes site inspections, walk throughs and ad-hoc environmental compliance reviews of facility operations Performs all other related duties as assigned

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering or environmental related science field with at least two years of work-related experience
