JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Patient Access Representative Associate is responsible for greeting and welcoming patients in person. Provides a standard registration process by collecting demographic and financial data and enter information into an electronic medical record. Primary Responsibilities: Greets and welcomes patient in person Collects demographic and insurance information Checks in or interviews patient to complete appropriate paperwork Directs patient to their appointment or procedure May assist in scheduling add-on appointments Verifies eligibility and benefits information for payers and interprets results Obtains signatures from patients as needed Collects co-pay or deductibles and respond to questions regarding financial assistance programs available. Refers complex questions as needed Uses resources, tools and procedures to complete accounts in assigned work queues Assists patient in completion of request for information forms and submits to appropriate department May gather medical record information from all departments for collection Coordinate communication between patients, family members, medical staff, administrative staff, or regulatory agencies. Interview patients or their representatives to identify problems relating to care. Refer patients to appropriate health care services or resources. Maintain knowledge of community services and resources available to patients. Explain policies, procedures, or services to patients using medical or administrative knowledge. Investigate and direct patient inquiries or complaints to appropriate medical staff members and follow up to ensure satisfactory resolution. Read current literature, talk with colleagues, continue education, or participate in professional organizations or conferences to keep abreast of developments in the field. Develop and distribute newsletters, brochures, or other printed materials to share information with patients or medical staff. Provide consultation or training to volunteers or staff on topics, such as guest relations, patients\' rights, or medical issues. Analyze patients\' abilities to pay to determine charges on a sliding scale. Identify and share research, recommendations, or other information regarding legal liabilities, risk management, or quality of care. Collect and report data on topics, such as patient encounters or inter-institutional problems, making recommendations for change when appropriate. Teach patients to use home health care equipment. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Role - 1: 6+ months of customer service experience in an office/hospital setting Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products Ability to work the following shifts on a two week, rotational scheduled Week 1: Sunday, Monday Friday & Saturday from 3:00pm 11:00pm Week 2: Wednesday & Thursday from 3:00pm 11:00pm Ability to work within standard daytime hours Mon-Fri for first 3 weeks in alignment with the training schedule Must be 18 years or older OR Role2: Must be 18 years or older 6+ months of customer service experience Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products Ability to work 11:00pm 7:00am every other Friday & Saturday OR Role 3: 6+ months of customer service experience in an office/hospital setting Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products Ability to work every other Saturday & Sunday from 7:00am 3:00pm Must be 18 years or older ***** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Apply Online: https://uhg.hr/patientaccess-riverfalls
