The team you will be a part of
The Product Development team designs, validates and brings new products to market. Specifies precise new product requirements; designs, tests and integrates components to produce final designs; and evaluates the design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability and safety. Designs, develops, executes and evaluates fitness-for-use testing, product specifications and process validation plans.
This role in summary
On a day-to-day basis in this role, you will own both the virtual and physical development and launch of Dishwasher products. The system integrator will lead technical teams in the product development process for (1) new-to-market products, (2) updates/revamps to existing products and (3) maintenance of current products in the market. They will be accountable for system-level design/cost/quality/time trade-offs and technical decision making within the project scope.
On a daily basis, you will interact with the cross-functional team addressing the majors development milestones and criterias per Whirlpool Development Process.
Your responsibilities will include
Lead the technical development and execution of products within the dishwasher category.
Translate business requirements to technical project specification plans
Lead the engineering project team through product development milestones
Responsible for system-level engineering trade-offs
Ensure product development activities are completed on time, meeting all requirements, including cost, quality, and performance targets to support the project plans and project execution
Accountability within the project of product cost, quality and production delivery targets
Manage capital and engineering expense budgets
Responsible for driving team to create, verify, and validate functional prototypes
Effectively present project status updates to technical team, management team, and executive leadership
Execute and present project technical design reviews
Develop strong relationships with all key process partners
Minimum requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Experience in product development
Preferred skills and experiences
Technical project management experience
Proven success leading projects from inception through execution
Ability to accomplish goals by leading through others
Communicate effectively both to technical and leadership teams
