Franklin Pierce University Human Resources Generalist in Rindge, New Hampshire

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resources department providing quality customer service as the first point of contact for customers and visitors in addition to managing the job posting process and other administrative tasks.

Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Develop, coordinate, and implement all phases of the job posting process, working with hiring managers and applicants to ensure a robust and diverse hiring pool.

  • Support and look for ways to improve the applicant tracking system software, take the lead in training on new functionality.

  • Develop, coordinate, and implement all phases of the Student hiring process from posting to hire and onboarding.

  • Collaborates with hiring managers to identify and draft accurate job postings, and review that all materials contain non-biased language

  • Applies best practices on diversity recruitment and educates all search committees and hiring managers on these practices through identifying and implementing efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies.

  • Recommend strategies to improve processes and services.

  • Coordinate and manage candidate travel arrangements and reimbursements.

  • Manage and monitor the Human Resources email and voicemail accounts and assist/respond when appropriate or forward to appropriate team members.

  • Perform other onboarding tasks including but not limited to, the I-9 and e-Verify process, motor vehicle checks, and setting up training.

  • Assist with payroll and ad hoc Human Resources projects.

  • Participate in policy review and development to ensure that they promote diversity and are supportive of all social strata.

  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and University policies.

  • Supports the Human Resources team, learning other tasks and the ability to fill-in as backup when necessary to ensure smooth and efficient coverage and service.

  • Keep up to date with the latest Human Resources trends and best practice.

    Position Requirements/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of human resources regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment, employment laws, for example: Americans with Disabilities Act, and Affirmative Action & Equal Opportunity preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, or related field, or equivalent work experience, required.

  • At least two years working within the recruitment and hiring process highly preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.

  • Knowledge of diversity networking and/or recruiting initiatives.

  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.

  • Strong commitment to customer service.

  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.

  • High level of mastery of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook calendar and email. Moderate level of proficiency with Adobe Acrobat. Must demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to stay current with emerging office technologies.

  • Good administrative and organizational skills.

  • Proven effectiveness and ability to collaborate and work with a wide range of professionals, staff, and administrators, as well as external organizations. Must be able to establish and maintain trusting relationships with peers, students, staff and leadership.

  • Represent the University by exhibiting a demeanor that is welcoming, open, and professional. Ability to generate confidence with the University’s community.

  • Works closely with the Human Resources Team to ensure all reporting functions are done correctly and in a timely manner.

  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check.
