As part of Scientific Services, in the Global Database Studies (GloDaSt) team we offer exposure to observational research projects with global reach. In your role, you will gain experience working on challenging studies in various therapeutic areas using large-scale patient-level databases and innovative study designs to answer diverse research questions. Responsibilities of an epidemiologist in assigned tasks under supervision:
Contribute to the conduct global database studies, including planning study design, used data sources and pharmacoepidemiological methods, and interpreting the results
Prepare and review scientific documents including feasibility study reports, protocols, study reports, and scientific publications
Co-operate closely with other members in global multi-disciplinary teams, including e.g. senior epidemiologists, project managers, statisticians, and data access experts
Serve as a contact on epidemiology with clients and other stakeholders, such as authorities
Perform critical literature reviews and provide summaries as needed
Contribute to internal process development and company initiatives
Our ideal candidate would have the following:
MPH or MSc or an equivalent degree (PhD preferred) in epidemiology, public health or a closely related scientific discipline, with sound methodological training in epidemiology or related public health area relevant to observational health research
Scientific writing experience in the field of observational healthcare research
Fluency in English (spoken and written) and strong written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work independently, both under supervision and as a contributing team member
Commitment to working collaboratively and effectively in multi-disciplinary, international teams
Excellent time management skills, contributing to multiple projects with competing timelines, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Excellent proficiency MS Office
Minimum 1 year of related experience within real-world evidence, such as epidemiology or secondary data studies
At least one publication in a peer-reviewed journal and/or abstracts and oral or poster presentations in scientific conferences
Experience in designing and executing observational database studies and exposure to working with large real-world healthcare databases
Clinical experience and understanding of drug therapies
Experience in serving in a client-facing role, e.g. in a consultancy, contract research organization (CRO), pharmaceutical/biotech company, or healthcare services
Experience and knowledge of developments within the industry and major competitors
