DANISCO USA INC Quality Engineer in Ridgefield, New Jersey

Job Summary It's an exciting time to be part of the IFF team at our Ridgefield, NJ location. As the Quality Engineer, you will provide process improvement expertise, root cause analysis and leadership to meet our customer and expectations. You will work with manufacturing site stakeholders to ensure the site meets its key performance indicators. In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive positive changes in operations that lead to operational excellence and reduced operational costs. You will teach, train, and mentor other members of the operations staff on quality management best practices. This individual will support the site by ensuring business continuity for both the Quality Manager and/or Plant Manager. Additionally, you will be a quality ambassador for the manufacturing site, facilitating a culture that is conducive to ensuring final products are safe and meet customer expectations. Required Skills: Write technical documents such as SOPs, WI's, MMRs ensuring they adhere to quality standards. Working to Identify and champion opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives, Incorporate principles of lean manufacturing such as 5S Complaint handling: Receiving customer complaints from customer service department, analyze process-oriented complaints, taking decision that could influence a process, coordinating the process of root cause analysis of the complaint with other disciplines, and making proposals for improvements to eliminate causes for complaints. Tracking operational key performance indicators (KPI) such as safety, Quality, downtime, production throughput, batch and solid waste with defined reason codes. Generate reports and trend graphs. Will be an ambassador to ensure quality and safety practices are followed always. Performs other related duties as required and assigned. Training: Training local manufacturing teams on Good Manufacturing Practices, hygiene, food/product safety programs (HACCP/Environmental Sampling/Allergen/Product Defense), Auditing, Good documentation practices, and any other regulations required in scent business. Conduct HACCP and FSVP assessments to identify and close gaps with our current processes Internal Auditing: Work with site operations team to develop and execute risk-based audit plans to mitigate quality risk. External Audits : attend customer audits and/or any other audits required by third parties (if necessary) Fostering and maintaining good employee relations through all the appropriate methods of communications and positive employee relations practices Provide support to the EHS local team on process improvements and training. Continues Improvement Projects : Coordinate local projects with Ridgefield team focused in cost reductions, productivity and quality. Required Experience: Preferred experience in Flavor/Food or Pharma Industry > 3 years experience in a variety of disciplines including quality, manufacturing, and/or cross functional teams Prior experience in continuous improvement initiatives and Lean implementation a plus Knowledge of GMP's, HACCP, Quality Systems Ability to work in a fast paced, multi tasked environment. Good interpersonal skills required. Good organizational skills. Basic computer skills; word processor, spreadsheets, and database.
