Robert Half Senior Accountant in Richmond, Virginia
Description Robert Half has an opening for an experienced, driven Senior Accountant to provide leadership and know-how to a growing team. This is a permanent opportunity in the Richmond, Virginia area. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Major responsibilities
Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external
Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Offer involvement in various department-wide initiatives
Provide monthly accounting closure procedures and deliverables, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required
Provide monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Continuously analyze current automation of the accounting and reporting process and present improvement suggestions Requirements - Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills
Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Current and relevant ERP system experience
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Able to manage time well
3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
Month end closings experience
Proven knowledge of auditing
General familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP)
Comprehensive knowledge of Monthly Bank Reconciliation
GAAP Accounting experience
Well-founded grasp of financial auditing
US GAAP experience preferred
Command of bank reconciliations
