Job Title: Maintenance Technician II

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our team at our industrial laundry facility. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment and possess a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient operation of our equipment, reducing downtime, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on industrial laundry equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance.

  • Operate and maintain support equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts safely and efficiently.

  • Work with a variety of tools, including wrenches, sockets, and drills, to perform maintenance tasks.

  • Maintain and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including pumps, bearings, chains, belts, and conveyors.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with hand and power tools.

  • Proficiency in preventative and corrective maintenance.

  • Ability to perform repairs on mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Experience with hydraulics and mechanical systems.

  • Knowledge of conveyor systems.

  • Proficiency in welding.

  • Ability to operate forklifts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

This position is based in an industrial laundry facility that supports hospitals and outpatient facilities. The facility operates in two buildings: the 'blue building' supports facilities with an 8am-5pm schedule, while the 'white building' supports 24/7 hospital facilities. The initial shift will be Mon-Fri from 5:00pm to 1:30am, transitioning after approximately 3 months to either Sun-Wed from 12:30pm to 11:00pm or Wed-Sat from 12:30pm to 11:00pm. The work environment is fast-paced, requiring employees to be on their feet for 8-10 hours a day. Certain areas can be hot, especially around dryers, and the facility can be warm in summer and cold in winter. Employees must be comfortable working in varying temperature conditions.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.93 - $25.93
