The Role in Brief
Analyst, Strategy & Operations
The Commercial Analytics team enables EAB to take a highly data-driven approach to managing the business. Our customers are our peers – from account managers to the CEO – and our objective is to provide them with the insights and analysis that inform their decisions and help guide firm strategy to maximize revenue.
As an Analyst, you will act as a key partner to the sales and account management leadership team by providing visibility into the department’s performance. You will perform in-depth analysis to identify opportunities, set strategy, and allocate resources. To be successful, you will need to establish a technical proficiency across common data & analytics platforms, and build a comprehensive understanding of our organization. Ideal candidates for this position will have exceptional critical thinking and communication skills, and must be highly motivated to tackle challenging problems and provide outstanding service.
Our current opportunity is based in Washington, D.C. or Richmond, VA. This position is also posted at the Senior Analyst level; candidates are being considered at both levels for the current opening.
This opening is not eligible for visa sponsorship at this time; EAB will thus consider candidates who possess U.S. work authorization that does not require employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Primary Responsibilities:
Forecasting performance in order to set expectations for the executive team
Analyzing specific business problems, including pricing analysis, ad-hoc analysis, modeling, and forecasting
Identifying actionable data to align commercial and delivery behavior with business objectives
Collaborating with commercial leadership to understand pressing business needs and act as a strategic thought partner to address those needs
Creating models to forecast future performance and model the impact of new initiatives on revenue and service delivery
Analyzing trends and validating adherence to strategic initiatives and objectives
Using SQL to transform and clean data for the purpose of downstream analysis
Creating reports, dashboards, and data visualizations in Tableau and Excel to generate actionable insight
Setting and maintaining sales and renewal goals based on historical performance data and qualitative feedback
Delivering in-depth ad hoc analyses to diagnose performance issues and guide strategic initiatives
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, ideally in an analytical/quantitative field (e.g. economics, statistics, business, etc.)
Minimum 2+ years of work experience in an analytical or operational capacity
Experience using Microsoft Excel and/or SQL to query and analyze business data
Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and insights from data
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence others and gain the trust of stakeholders
Self-starter with proven ability to think creatively and navigate data complexity, stay organized and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail with a desire to solve challenging problems, and to constantly improve technical/analytical skills by learning new methods
Ideal Qualifications
A candidate that possesses 2 or more of the following qualifications could be viewed as a strong fit for this role.
Experience working with complex and disparate data to produce relevant and consumable reports, dashboards, and/or ad-hoc analyses
Experience using Tableau or other business intelligence/visualization tools
Experience with Salesforce or other customer relationship management (CRM) systems
Strong project management skills
Experience reporting to/communicating with executives

Compensation:
The anticipated starting salary range for this role is $59,000 - $75,000 per year. Actual salary varies due to factors that may include but not be limited to relevant experience, skills, and location. At EAB, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the starting salary range for their role.
This hire will additionally be eligible for discretionary bonus or incentive compensation. Variable compensation may depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
