We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.
Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary
This position will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications.
Coordinates and ensures company programs and projects are in compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, for projects related to water, groundwater, land, biological, ecological, toxicological, or similar environmental programs. Promotes corporate environmental policy, by educating and assisting employees to seek innovative ways to ensure operational environmental compliance. Coordinates environmental permitting activities, scientific studies, and field studies for company facilities, with a focus on water issues, including NPDES permits, industrial user permitting, wetlands/streams impacts, cultural resources, threatened and endangered species, surface and groundwater withdrawals, construction and industrial stormwater, land disturbance, drinking water, sewage disposal, for existing and new facilities. Develops and conducts environmental compliance training.
Inspects and provides advice on operations, construction, procedures, records, and training. Ensures compliance with environment requirements prescribed by laws, regulations, company policies, and company procedures. Provides regulatory interpretations for new and existing environmental regulations. Coordinates and develops compliance plans for implementing regulatory changes. Prepares and coordinates reports and registration information to required regulatory agencies. Conducts analyses, prepares position papers, and prepares compliance manuals on regulatory issues and programs. Uses electronic databases to analyze and monitor company compliance with regulatory requirements.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Environmental Specialist II - 3+ years directly related experience
Environmental Specialist III - 5-7 years directly related experience
Note: A Master's degree will count as one year of experience towards the experience requirement. A partial year of six months or more of experience will be rounded up to one year of experience.
Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:
Good working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations specific to the work location;
Good working knowledge of environmental operating permits and regulations specific to the work site, if responsible for contracted assets;
Logic and reasoning skills, to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternatives, conclusions, or approaches;
Respectful assertiveness, to ensure environmental compliance requirements are met by others, while considering the spirit and letter of the law;
Excellent interpersonal skills, to interface with internal stakeholders effectively;
Ability to give full attention to others, to take time understanding the points being made, and to ask questions;

Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education.
