System One Construction Project Manager - Water/Wastewater Plants in Richmond, Virginia

As a Construction Project Manager, you will oversee onsite construction engineering activities for industrial projects, primarily focusing on Water/Wastewater Treatment plants, but also including factories, production facilities, and data centers across various industries.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that project goals are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

  • Manage Project Engineers, Superintendents, and Foremen and oversee the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the team.

  • Manage project engineering and personnel functions, including planning, administration, and work assignments.

  • Ensure compliance with company and contract requirements, supporting the overall construction schedule (Primavera P6).

  • Provide technical support, including construction planning, design interpretation, and conflict resolution.

  • Develop and administer project engineering procedures and work controlling documents (submittals, RFIs, material deliveries, payment requests).

  • Represent the company in A/E, client, and project management meetings.

  • Interface with on-site departments to resolve issues and ensure construction quality.

  • Oversee pre-construction services, design-build services, and business development.

  • Work with the Superintendent to control job costs and production budgets.

  • Prepare and submit monthly cost, income, and cash flow projections.

  • Execute and approve subcontractor requisitions and vendor invoices.

  • Assist in the settlement of change orders and claims.

  • Respond quickly to issues, proactively solve problems, and handle multiple tasks.

  • Maintain subcontractor insurance certificate compliance.

    Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent technical training and experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in construction, design, finance, and management.

  • 5+ years of construction engineering experience in heavy industrial projects.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration is preferred but not required.

    Title, duties, and responsibilities will be refined to reflect past experience, current responsibilities, and future career trajectory.

    Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, and standards.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to manage a multidisciplinary team.
