Description

The Estimator / Engineer will gather and analyze data and pricing and produce proposals for customers for a current or proposed project.

Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to these essential tasks and are subject to change by the employer as needs arise in the company.

· Evaluates all Requests for Proposals (RFPs) received from customers to understand limits/extent of the scope of work Spartan is to bid on

· Works with Operations to determine project specific needs for manpower, equipment, material, subcontractors, and other resources

· Solicits pricing from vendors and subcontractors to provide material or 3rd party services that Spartan will not self-perform

· Prepares cost estimates for internal review and assists with the preparation of project proposals

· Prepares initial project schedules to be included with the proposals

· Reviews and analyzes previously completed projects to understand the accuracy of the estimate when compared to actual costs

· Identifies opportunities to reduce costs

· Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree in related field

· 1 years of relevant experience preferred

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Vast knowledge of construction practices

· Proficient in completing accurate take-offs from construction drawings

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

· Proficient understanding of cost accounting principles

· Proficient with accounting software and cost software
