Aerotek Controls System Technician in Richmond, California

Job Title: SCA2 - CST

Job Description

The Controls System Technician (CST) is pivotal in maintaining, troubleshooting, and modifying material handling controls systems to ensure the operational performance of equipment such as conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print and apply systems, and SCADA devices. Responsibilities include maintaining software programs for control systems, acting as first-level escalation support, monitoring metrics, and partnering with operations for system performance issues. This role also involves assessing system performance, coordinating new technology installations, and communicating technical issues effectively with various teams.

Hard Skills

  • PLC experience

  • Ability to identify, maintain, troubleshoot, and modify AB RS LOGIX 5000 PLC's and PLC components

  • Industrial electrical troubleshooting

  • Interpreting and modifying mechanical and electrical drawings

  • SCADA systems utilization

  • Motor control systems expertise

  • Knowledge in Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus

Soft Skills

  • Ability to communicate technical issues clearly

  • Project management skills

  • Capability to work closely with operations and engineering teams

  • Technical consulting proficiency

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 640 Hour(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Richmond, California.

Work Environment

Candidates must be open to all shifts, as shifts might change. For the first 2 weeks, new hires will travel to a training facility nearby or a designated training location for onboarding, with accommodations provided for travel if over 50 miles or 1-hour from the location.
