This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop annual sales strategies including setting sales goals;

  • Conduct market analysis as well as provide competitive intelligence. Acquire strategic information on customers and the industry in order to anticipate market trends;

  • Create ongoing activities that promote the company and our products such as any advertising, promotions, social media and public relations necessary;

  • Develop and maintain strategic business relationships with general contractors;

  • Acquire strategic information on customers and the industry in order to anticipate market trends;

  • Work to promote the company capacity as AlumaSafway;

  • Perform sales activities on major accounts and negotiate sales price and discounts in consultation with General Manager/ president;

  • Negotiate terms of contracts with decision makers;

  • Work closely with accounting and shipping departments to ensure that credit checks are done quickly, orders are filled promptly and product is shipped to customers in a timely fashion;

  • Identify and attain new sales opportunities;

  • Check tender invitations, daily commercial news and industry websites for tender opportunities;

  • Communicate with estimating department to ensure estimate reports are provided for accurate quotes;

  • Read tender forms and specifications prior to bidding

  • Prepare and submit accurate quote for projects;

  • Attend pre and post tender meetings;

  • Maintain and track submission records;

  • Build and manage a pipeline to ensure targets are met. Actively manage the sales process: lead generations, qualifying leads, solution pitch, negotiation, closing and handover to operation team;

  • Work in conjunction with sales and sales support staff.

  • Define strategies to reach targets and to follow the set strategy punctually;

  • Collaborate with General Manager to develop sales strategies to improve market share;

  • Accurately forecast annual, quarterly and monthly revenue streams;

  • Provide monthly results assessments of sales productivity;

  • Develop specific plans to ensure revenue growth in all company’s products;

  • Formulate all sales policies, practices and procedures;

  • Interpret short- and long-term effects on sales strategies in operating profit;

  • Review expenses and recommends economies;

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key industry partners, other associations and trade partners;

  • Represent AlumaSafway in industry trade events. Participate in networking activities. Stay up-to-date with all industry trends, issues and news;

  • Ensure strong internal communication between all departments of the business (operations, technical and accounting);

  • Ensure timely and accurate sales reporting is achieved and provided to the VP, Western Canada; and

  • Accept other related duties as deemed necessary by management.

  • Occupational Health and Safety

  • Report all incidents, accidents and/or hazards;

  • Wear personal protective equipment as required;

  • Adhere to lockout procedures;

  • Perform housekeeping activities as required;

  • Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Regulation and Code;

  • Comply with the Workers Compensation Act;

  • Comply with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS);

  • Comply with Health and Safety rules, policies and procedures of the company.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree in Civil Engineering, marketing or business studies is an asset; or 3-5 years related experience in construction industry; or the equivalent combination of formal education and experience. Experience in developing marketing and sales strategies is a must.

  • Capacity to establish priorities, develop a plan and follow through to completion;

  • Ability to work well independently, as a leader or as a team member;

  • Customer oriented attitude;

  • Problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trend information;

  • Good understanding of computer software including MS Office;

  • Good understanding of building elements, Ability to read blue prints is an asset;

  • Ability to read and interpret tender and contract documents;

  • Must work well under pressure;

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills is essential;

  • Good organizational skills.
