CTG Project Manager II - Nuclear Projects in Richland, Washington

CTG is seeking to fill a Project Manager II - Nuclear Projects job for our client in Richland, WA.

Location: Richland, WA

Duration: 12 months

Must be a US Citizen

Duties:

  • Manage projects and programs, typically under $10M, including planning, scheduling, and control of activities independently.

  • Lead project teams of 10+ people, providing strong leadership on complex multidiscipline projects and programs.

  • Establish priorities and maintain a general knowledge of all project aspects.

  • Direct project teams’ activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives, safety standards, and quality.

  • Develop and manage budgets, tracking costs versus budgets for assigned projects.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements, including ALARA planning and industrial and nuclear safety standards.

  • Create and deliver project schedules, manage risk, enforce accountability, and track progress.

  • Oversee contracts, interface with vendors, and manage work packages, parts procurement, and resource loading.

  • Resolve schedule delays and conflicts, prioritizing work effectively.

  • Prepare and deliver written and oral communications to various groups, including senior management.

  • Develop and maintain long-range strategies for assigned projects and support outage-related activities, including coordination with the Outage Coordination Center (OCC).

  • Support the implementation of the Columbia Generating Station Self-Assessment and Corrective Action Program.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and project management skills, especially in managing large-scale, complex, multidiscipline projects.

  • Advanced project management techniques, particularly in a commercial nuclear plant or similar facility.

  • Proficiency in managing budgets, scheduling, and vendor relationships.

  • Ability to mentor and coach project managers and lead teams effectively.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Risk management and conflict resolution expertise.

  • Proficient in project management and budget process software (e.g., MS Office, Passport).

Experience:

  • 14 years of experience in a technical field, with at least 5 years in project management at a nuclear power plant or similar setting.

  • Proven experience managing refueling outages, forced outages, and on-line work in a nuclear power plant environment.

  • Hands-on experience in managing complex projects related to operations, construction, maintenance, and engineering in the commercial nuclear industry.

  • Experience in managing project budgets, work packages, and procurement activities, particularly in the context of nuclear facility operations.

  • Previous supervisory or project management experience leading cross-functional teams.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related field from an accredited institution.

  • OR an AA/AS degree with 16 years of experience in a technical field.

  • OR a High School Diploma/GED with 18 years of experience in a technical field.

  • Project Management Certification required (e.g., PMP).

  • Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Construction Management, RO/SRO License, CGS Management Cert) are highly desirable.

Required Abilities and Skills:

  • Proficiency in error reduction and human performance improvement methodologies.

  • Expertise in cost-effective work execution and managing complex projects, including outages and maintenance.

  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to nuclear power plant operations.

Desired Abilities and Skills:

  • Supervisory experience and participation in industry committees.

  • Experience with project management and budget process software.

  • Skilled in evaluating and improving organizational, technical, and maintenance programs.

  • Familiarity with the specific challenges and needs of nuclear operations, construction, and maintenance.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $75/hr to $96/hr. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
