Pacific Northwest National Laboratory Financial Coordinator 2 in Richland, Washington
Overview
This position will provide support to the Nuclear Science and Legacy Waste Project Management Office (PMO53). The Project Management Office ensures the expert delivery for approximately 350 projects in the development, design, and safe operation of nuclear and radiochemical processes, systems and facilities that produce nuclear energy and radioisotopes, and that treat, recycle, or dispose of stored legacy nuclear materials. This position will collaborate with the Project Management Office Director to facilitate and support the oversight and execution of projects within the PMO throughout the project lifecycle including proposal development, project execution and documentation, project reviews and closeout. This position requires regular communications with project managers and their support staff, contracts, operations, the business office, sector managers and other support organizations. This position is expected to work under general supervision and provide solutions to challenges of limited scope and complexity.

The Financial Coordinator contributes to PNNL through financial support of project management. Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Project Management Office support
Maintain PMO statistics
Develop draft monthly PMO reports
Support travel and travel expense within PMO
Serve as an information resource for project managers on PNNL policies, procedures and guidelines related to travel, publication, purchasing, FVAs, badging, facility access and similar areas specific to the PMO
Proposal coordination
Setup proposal development schedules/reviews
Draft proposal templates
Monitor progress of proposal efforts, and identify where additional assistance is needed
Project startup
Track contract process
Assist in generating project staffing and spend plans (using Excel and Access)
Schedule project kickoff reviews
Coordinate project reviews
Coordinate calendars, meetings and agendas for best time utilization of participants
Take meeting minutes and providing a summary of action items and follow up with responsible participant to ensure completion
Financial Monitoring
Support tracking financial status of all projects within PMO
Support the development and execution of anticipatory and write-offs as needed
Construct time-phased budgets, work schedules, work breakdown structures, and cost account plans for projects and programs
Develop, maintain, analyze, and provide monthly budget, schedule, and lifecycle progress summary reports to project managers and their management
Project Execution
Track milestones and deliverables for PMO (using Excel, Access, PICS-NE)
Update status of all milestones and deliverables on an as-needed basis
Support change control process
Track and maintain project information in various project systems (PPM, EPR, WALS, PICS-NE, others)
Assist in project close-out
Administrative Support
Maintain PMOD Outlook inbox and calendar including accepting/rejecting meeting invites, scheduling meetings on behalf of PMOD, and flagging emails requiring attention
Maintain contact list for email distributions
Gather information on projects within the PMO on an as-needed basis
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
MS/MA or higher -OR-
BS/BA and 2 years of relevant financial experience -OR-
AA and 12 years of relevant financial experience -OR-
HS/GED and 14 years of relevant financial experience.
Qualifying experience in financial support of budget management, financial analysis, and tracking & reporting of cost and spend may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong Excel and Access skills
Experience in creating and maintaining budgets
Broad experience and knowledge of matrixed support organizations within PNNL
Familiarity with Project Management Standards through the 5 phases of Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring & Control and Closeout
