Sargent & Lundy Experienced Nuclear Quality Assurance Engineer in Richland, Washington
Description
We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to be based out of our Richland, WA office. This position will offer you the opportunity to utilize and expand your background in engineering by providing technical support in a professional services environment. Your primary role will be ensuring the quality of work activities performed by Government Services and Nuclear Power Group personnel based in Richland, WA, Los Alamos, NM and Albuquerque, NM. In this role, you will be expected to be able to participate in and eventually lead and host quality assurance audits while also working with project teams on such diverse activities as problem identification and resolution, support during the procurement of engineered products and materials, and self-assessment activities. You will also assist project teams with the development and execution of project quality plans.
Other duties of the position may include assisting the Quality Assurance Manager in tasks including training employees, controlling purchased items and services, verification of effective corrective action, data analysis and trending, and root cause analysis. The focus of these activities is engineering, design and consulting activities. The position may involve approximately 10-15% domestic travel to company locations and related supplier facilities for the purpose of audit, surveillance, and/or inspection.
Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.
Essential skills and experience:
BS or MS from an ABET-accredited engineering program or related academic experience
Proficiency with MS Office applications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical reasoning
Valued but not required skills and experience:
Experience in quality in the nuclear industry or in another regulated industry.
NQA-1 Audit Team Leader Certification.
Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and designation as an Engineer in Training or a Professional Engineering License
