GENERAL SUMMARY
Performs diverse tasks and leadership assignments primarily engaged in preparing and checking design changes to nuclear plant structures, systems, and components. Ensures conformance with engineering direction, specifications, design criteria, and design standards in all work performed. Plans and coordinates work assignments to assure adherence to budgets and schedules.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Technical Direction
Directs job assignments to team members and provides design and schedule expectations for successful task completion.
Reviews completed work packages to ensure that designs are technically complete and checked and that all affected design data base documentation has been properly revised.
Ensures conformance with engineering direction, specifications, design criteria, and design standards in all work performed.
Resource Planning
Prepares formal design time estimates for use in overall project scheduling and advises superiors of resources needed to ensure completion of assigned work scope within schedule.
Maintains constant review of job status, initiates appropriate measures to overcome delays that might affect established work schedules, and brings unusual problems or delays to the attention of superiors.
Participates in technical, scoping, and schedule planning meetings with other project participants.
Advises superiors in budget preparation to ensure resources are available to accomplish assigned workload.
Provides design and schedule expectations for successful task completion.
Team Development
Establishes and maintains working interfaces with design teams in other disciplines and with other organizations to foster cooperation and team building, and to ensure that customer/supplier alignments are established and maintained.
Provides technical guidance and training to team members to ensure resources are available to accomplish assigned workload.
Performance Monitoring
Constantly monitors and reviews performance of team members to enhance their individual growth and development.
Provides assistance in the preparation of periodic performance plans and appraisals.
Utilizes the principles of performance management and core values to develop and maintain the highest possible degree of individual and team performance.
ERO
Engineering employees are expected to be available and to support the following activities as a condition of employment with Energy Northwest:
Emergency Response Organization (ERO) including being on-call (24/7) during your required team duty (2 weeks out of every 8 weeks).
12 hour work shifts during outages as part of our overall Outage support (24/7) including Outage Command Center and Engineering Outage Center
Engineering duty cycle support (24/7) including call-out availability during your responsible duty assignment (typically 1 week timeframe with requirements similar to ERO).
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Designer V
Requires an Associate’s degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university eight years of highly technical design experience sufficient to provide support of plant systems, structures, component documentation, design, and controlling standards and regulations
OR a high school diploma or GED and ten years of highly technical design experience sufficient to provide support of plant systems, structures, component documentation, design, and controlling standards and regulations.
Designer IV
Requires an Associate’s degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university and seven years of related experience in plant systems, structure and component design, documentation, and controlling standards and regulations
OR a High School Diploma/GED and nine years of related experience in nuclear plant systems, structure and component design, documentation, and controlling standards and regulations.
Designer III
Requires an Associate’s degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university and five years of related experience in plant systems, structure and component design, documentation, and controlling standards and regulations
OR a High School Diploma/GED and 7 years of related experience in nuclear plant systems, structure and component design, documentation, and controlling standards and regulations.
Designer II
Requires an Associate’s degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university and two years of highly technical design experience sufficient to provide working knowledge of plant systems, structure, and component documentation, design, and controlling standards and regulations;
OR a high school diploma or GED and four years of highly technical design experience sufficient to provide working knowledge of nuclear plant system, structure, and component documentation, design, and controlling standards and regulations.
DESIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Primarily responsible with the task of performing electrical and I&C drafting activities in support of projects and modifications for the Capital Electrical/I&C Design group.

Pay Range:
Designer V Salary: $103,563 - $155,345
Midpoint: $129,454
Designer IV Salary: $90,048 - $135,072
Midpoint: $112,560
Designer III Salary: $78,354 - $117,530
Midpoint: $97,942
Designer II Salary: $68,061 - $102,091
Midpoint: $85,076
Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.
Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.
Incentive Compensation
This role is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
