NEW HORIZONS CRISIS CENTER INC Intake Specialist Part-Time in RICHFIELD, Utah

Crisis Center in Richfield, Utah is seeking a part-time Intake Specialist. 

Wage: $17.00 per hour

Work: 20 hours/week.

Job Summary:

Responsible for meeting, in person, and completing intakes with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other crimes. Duties include greeting clients and gathering and reporting personal histories and details upon clients' arrival at the shelter. The intake specialist then coordinates with victim advocates and case managers for a continuum of care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•          Answer/respond to the 24-hour Hotline as needed.

•          Welcome clients to the shelter, complete intakes, safety planning, and exit paperwork.

•          Provide clients with resources and referrals in the community; and assist them in accessing and filling out necessary forms and applications.

•          Collaborate with individuals, entities, and organizations on behalf of clients as needed.

•          Provide transportation for clients as needed.

•          Gather statistical information on each client; and enter it into New Horizons' database.

•          Attend and participate in staff meetings.

•          Establish and maintain professional relationships with relevant professionals.

•          Adhere to mandatory reporting laws, confidentiality requirements, and New Horizons' policies and procedures.

•          Maintain appropriate professional and ethical boundaries and standards.

•          Participate in trainings and conferences, as required, to maintain victim service skills.

•          Ensure the adherence to victim rights for individuals.

•          Assist clients in filing protective orders and crime victim compensation.

•          Communicate with individuals, entities, and organizations on behalf of clients as needed.

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:

•           Experience in a domestic violence or sexual assault organization preferred.

•           A strong commitment to social justice and New Horizons' mission.

•           Excellent interpersonal organization and communication skills (verbal and written).

•         

Basic computer literacy skills.

•          Ability and commitment to work appropriately and effectively with diverse populations.

•          Ability to travel in response to crisis calls, and to attend conferences, training, and other events as required.

•& nbsp;         Must possess a valid driver's license and current automobile insurance.

•          Employer requires a criminal background check.

Within 6 months of hire, employee must successfully complete:

•          40-hour Core Advocacy Training

•          CPR/First Aid Training

•          Food Handler's Training

Schedule: 20 hrs./wk

Work Location: Richfield New Horizon's shelter and/or office
