Best Buy Co., Inc., headquartered in Richfield, Minnesota (Hennepin County), has an opening for a Machine Learning Scientist. Apply machine learning knowledge to contribute to building machine learning driven products. Engage with business partners, product managers, and developers to clarify requirements and identify business problems and/or objectives. Contribute production quality code implementing batch, streaming, and real time machine learning models. Apply algorithms to validate effectiveness of new machine learning models and any corresponding improvements in customer experience or business metrics. Mine large structured and unstructured data to glean actionable insights and recommend data-driven solutions. Participate in discussions with technical and non-technical product team members to determine feasibility of proposed solutions. Collaborate with engineers and product team to deploy scalable solutions. Use various programming languages and technologies, such as Python, C++, and Java, in conducting analyses and machine learning. Position is based out of Best Buy Co., Inc.'s headquarters and offers a telecommuting benefit, allowing the employee to work anywhere in the continental United States. Requires: Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, Computer Information Systems, or a related quantitative field, plus 1 year of experience with 1) hands-on building machine learning products; 2) using high performance machine learning libraries and/or deep learning frameworks; 3) applying design and implementation with general purpose programming languages of Scala, Swift, C++, and Java to identify and propose solutions to business problems; 4) using Python or R; and 5) applying machine learning and algorithmic modeling to at least one of the following areas: supervised and unsupervised learning methods, reinforcement learning, signal processing/ time series modeling, deep learning, or graphical modeling. The pay ranges from $96,283.00/yr. to $129,147.00/yr. Best Buy offers standard benefits offered to fulltime employees.
