Description
We are on the hunt for a dedicated Accounts Payable Specialist to be a part of our team. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will primarily focus on the processing of invoices within our accounts payable system, ensure accurate financial reporting, and handle a variety of accounting tasks. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices in the accounts payable system
• Monitor and report monthly operating statistics
• Record manual journal entries at the end of each month
• Provide clerical-level accounting support and manage related administrative tasks
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis
• Perform accounting functions and tasks as needed
• Process checks and manage accounts payable (AP)
• Conduct data entry tasks and manage discrepancies
• Handle coding of invoices and account reconciliation
• Manage approved invoices and handle invoice processing
• Oversee and manage financial accruals.
Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, as it will be used for various tasks including data entry and account reconciliation.
• Demonstrated experience in accounting functions, specifically in the transport industry, is essential.
• Must possess a solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) processes and principles.
• Experience in check processing is necessary to manage payments efficiently.
• Skilled in data entry with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in invoices and other financial documents.
• Familiarity with coding invoices, ensuring correct categorization for each expense.
• Proficient in account reconciliation, balancing and maintaining accurate ledgers.
• Experience in handling approved invoices, ensuring they match purchase orders and receipts.
• Knowledge of invoice processing is crucial, including reviewing, verifying, and processing invoices for payment.
• Understanding of accruals, specifically in recording and reporting financial transactions.
