Nuvance Health Unit Secy/Monitor Tech - FT/Nights in Rhinebeck, New York

Nuvance Health has a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut, and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York — plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practices locations, including The Heart Center, a leading provider of cardiology care.

Purpose: Provides clerical, receptionist and communication services for the Ambulatory Surgery Unit. Population served based on scope of services in the department.

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively and process information between the health care team, the patient and family/SO.

  2. Assists RNs to coordinate activities in the preparation of the patient record to ensure accuracy and completeness. Start assembly of charts the day prior to the surgery date.

  3. Prioritizes, organizes, receives and collates pertinent data on the patient chart.

  4. Generates patient computer labels and affixes to endo, pain management and minor procedures charts for the next day. Maintains packets.

  5. Acknowledge patient arrivals, escort to bed area and notify the nurse.

  6. Demonstrates the ability to perform appropriate computer skills. Proficient with Stat Schedules and Cerner order entry and results review.

  7. Maintain and Model REACH Values (Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Compassion, Honor).

  8. Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.

  9. Performs other duties as required.

Education and Experience Requirements:

· High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

· Strong attention to detail.

· Basic computer skills.

· Excellent Customer Service skills.

· Ability to multi task.
