Obesity/Bariatric Medicine Physician Opportunity in Rhinebeck, New York (90 minutes from New York City)
Nuvance Health is seeking a full-time, employed physician to work in our Obesity/Bariatric Medicine department at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, New York, located just 90 minutes outside of New York City. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Metabolic and Medical Weight Management Program across our larger 7 hospital system that includes physicians, advanced practitioners, registered dietitians, behavioral health specialists, and other clinical providers as appropriate. In addition to our full-time opportunity, part-time options will also be considered. Also New graduates with interest in obesity medicine will be considered.
The ideal candidate will board certified/eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, and/or Obesity Medicine, or another related specialty and have experience/ expertise in the field of obesity medicine. Board certification/eligibility in Obesity Medicine preferred, but not required. This includes competency in the genetic, biologic environmental, social and behavioral factors that contribute to obesity and a thorough understanding of the treatment of obesity and related metabolic conditions. The program includes management of obesity as a chronic disease with a focus on health and wellness. There is opportunity to work with cross-functional teams to establish obesity-related research and teaching functions for Nuvance Health. New or recent graduates of a bariatric medicine and clinical nutrition fellowship training program are welcome to apply.

The office is located on the campus of Northern Dutchess Hospital in a new expanded space. Northern Dutchess hospital is a 68-bed acute care not-for-profit community hospital with excellent medical staff and 24/7 hospitalist coverage. The hospital has recently renovated operating rooms, a brand new, top-rated emergency department, and fully modernized patient care areas. Northern Dutchess enjoys both the collegiality of a community hospital as well as the benefits of being part of a larger hospital system.
