As a Cook at Brookmeade, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your culinary creativity and skillset by preparing and serving scrumptious meals for our cherished residents. The shifts available for this position are AM Shifts (5:30 AM - 1:30 PM) & PM shift (11:30 - 7:30 PM)

Your responsibilities as a Cook will include leading and guiding your team members to ensure timely service and excellent food quality. You'll utilize your expertise in preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other delicious dishes.

Additionally, you'll flex your skills in frying, grilling, and sautéing meats and vegetables to create tantalizing flavors that will leave our residents satisfied and delighted. Your knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage will be essential in preparing and cooking hot and cold foods while ensuring proper food storage.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct other team members to ensure food quality and timely service

  • Follow recipes and product directions to prepare, season, cook, taste, carve, and serve soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foods

  • Prepare, season, and cook meats and vegetables using skills in frying, grilling, and sautéing

  • Assist in the preparation/cooking of hot and/or cold foods, and properly store food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage

  • Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation and equipment, following all standards and regulatory rules and procedures

  • Report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner and maintain a safe working environment by fixing immediate needs with appropriate safety measures
