Chart Industries Product and Method Engineer in Rheden, Netherlands

The Big Picture:

Howden Reciprocating and Centrifugal compressors (HCR), is a specialist supplier of tailor-made gas compression equipment for customers in the renewable, industrial and PCOG markets. Our products have made a valuable difference for our customers for the past 100 years, and we are now looking for a Product and Method Engineer who will join our Product Management & Support Team and supports us in making a valuable difference in the century to come.

The Product and Method Engineer ensures harmonization and drive standardization of designs, quality and performance for the company products across the Global organization. This is a unique opportunity to work with a highly motivated team to capture the growth opportunities in the renewable hydrogen market!

What needs to be done?

  • Support the processes of localization (partial or complete) of the company products by adapting when needed and transferring the product standards, procedures and quality requirements to the local teams;

  • Lead the qualification of Chart teams and facilities with regards to the company products and solutions;

  • Support the qualification processes of vendors, subcontractors. Qualification processes, matrix, standards and tools, related to all the company product lines;

  • Process and plans to deliver technical support to vendor and sub-contractor qualification processes for parts and sub-assemblies, in alignment with the company supplier development global plans;

  • Support localization projects for the company products to North America, India, and China;

  • Issue and deliver annual plan for technical support to the 2024 supplier base development by HCR-Team;

  • Issue and execute joint plans with local teams to fix issues discrepancies related to parts and product standardization governance.

What do you need to bring?

  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar;

  • Understanding of production processes for parts and sub-assemblies included in the company products (castings, welding, machining, assembly, testing);

  • Understanding of QA and QC requirements and processes;

  • Fluency in English.

  • Good communication skills verbal and written (ability to speak to groups);

  • Failure mode analysis, problem solving;

  • Working in a company with organization / teams on several locations (globally);

  • Process definition and improvement;

  • Qualification processes;

  • Experience of knowledge sharing / training;

  • Willing to travel (from a few days to 2 weeks) would likely be required for specific projects to support the global Chart team, expected travel time not more than 20% average.
