As a Solution Architect Manager you will...

· Lead a team of Solution Architects highly skilled in cloud, data and artificial intelligence in the design and delivery of solutions that support mission outcomes for Federal Civilian customers.

· Work across the Microsoft Civilian organization to align with shared goals and strategic priorities, proving presales support and ensuring that all product sales are accompanied by a robust implementation plan.

· Hold teams accountable for mapping architecture and digital transformation solutions to customer/partner business goals and supports them in working with customer/partner stakeholders and business sponsor to socialize both the business solution and the project approach.

· Drive internal advocacy by facilitating insight sharing with Product Engineering teams, and providing guidance through escalation, acceleration, and prioritization.

· Ensure the team builds and documents a realistically costed, advanced/complex solution approach and that issues and blockers are addressed by the appropriate groups.

· Connect gaps and patterns across business and technology areas to drive changes and/or the re-use of intellectual property and recommends practices in both pre-sales and deliver.

· Actively foster community sharing of stories across U.S. Federal Civilian and other business units within Microsoft, leveraging of pre-existing resources by encouraging and empowering team to share learnings and by establishing a cadence to calibrate on challenges and trends that impact the team across the subsidiary level as well as participate in external architect community events (e.g., conferences, seminars, technical meetups, Webcasts, blogs, hackathons) and share learnings with internal team.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security)

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security)

  • OR equivalent experience.

Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport.

Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under U.S. export control regulations, potentially under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations or the Export Administration Regulations.  As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide proof of citizenship, for assessment of eligibility to access the export-controlled information. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport.

Cloud Screening: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years technical sales experience.

  • 6+ years project management experience.

  • 2+ years managing multiple projects or portfolios.

  • 1+ year(s) experience leading blended, multidisciplinary teams.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Security Clearance.

Solution Architecture M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,700 - $209,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $151,100 - $226,700 per year.
