ICF Senior Manager, Project Accounting in Reston, Virginia

ICF seeks a Project Accounting Senior Manager to work in our Project Accounting Group, reporting to the Accounting Director. As the Senior Manager, you will be the project setup subject matter expert and ideally have experience managing a centralized project setup team. This important position supports key projects such as migrating the legacy business over to a new Costpoint structure and enhancing/implementing workflows for Project Setup and maintenance.

This position can be done remotely from anywhere in the US. Preferred location is the Washington DC Metro area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Group’s Accounting Director to successfully deliver on the group incentives, developing and using workflow tools to automate processes around Project Setup and IWOs

  • Partner with the Accounting Director and Project Accounting Managers to build a strong, focused, influential Project Accounting Group – developing a center of excellence for Project Setups

  • Write, develop and distribute policies and procedural documentation for Project Setup.

  • Produce and update control narratives and provide walkthroughs to internal and external audit.

  • Train the business operations and project financial controllers on any changes to processes and procedures

  • Provide Project Setup guidance surrounding the new Costpoint system design and supporting user acceptance testing and data migration crosswalks for when divisions migrate onto the new Costpoint system. (We are currently using Costpoint 8)

  • Provide Support to the Project Accounting Manager to help with the following:

  • Govern the accuracy and maintenance of projects using Deltek Costpoint – owning the quality assurance of setups.

  • Manage a team of 2 direct reports initially with team expansion planned and support them in delivering the day-to-day services for Project Accounting.

  • Help the PA Manager ensuring any training requirements are fulfilled with the team.

  • Continually assess ongoing processes to identify areas for improvement and added efficiencies.

  • Assist Project Setup Manager Reviews for direct jobs in accordance to the Project Setup Workflow.

  • Work with cross functional leads to troubleshoot downstream issues caused by setup items.

  • Ensure adequate cross-training and backup for critical and time-sensitive project accounting function.

Required Skills:

  • 8+ Years of experience with Deltek Costpoint and particularly project setup and billing modules/capabilities is required. (We cannot consider candidates who do not demonstrate Costpoint experience on their resume)

  • 8+ Years of experience in a government contracting environment or related experience.

  • 5+ years of experience leading teams of Project Accountants.

  • 5+ years of experience creating and optimizing project setup policies, processes, and documentation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, business or related discipline, or equivalent years of experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of cost reimbursable, time and material and fixed price government contracts as well as commercial contracts.

  • Ability to understand, interpret and apply accounting standards, federal regulations, award agreements, contractual terms, policies, and procedures.

  • Ability to build a team and a new department to support the operational business.

  • Prior experience working in an automated workflow ticketing system. (Integrify Preferable)

  • Track record of delivering well-organized and accurate work and standing up new initiatives

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven culture.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$112,513.00 - $191,273.00
