FANNIE MAE Learning and Development Advisor, Career Development (Flexible Hybrid) in Reston, Virginia

Job Description The Learning and Development Office (LDO) at Fannie Mae seeks a seasoned talent development and HR professional to serve as the Advisor, Career Development as a key member of the Talent Development team, reporting directly to the Senior Director, Talent Development. This position plays a critical role developing and leading a comprehensive portfolio of highly interrelated, strategically aligned work in the career development space that includes building capability in talent programs, coaching, mentorship, and experiential development (rotations, shadow opportunities, gig work, etc. ). The career development work will be closely aligned to and integrated with leadership development workstream, also under the talent development umbrella. The Advisor is responsible for providing guidance to a team of talent development professionals, supporting the strategic direction of the function.

The Learning and Development Advisor, Career Development role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with LDO colleagues, business and HR leaders, and subject matter experts to develop a comprehensive career development framework and translate that plan into actionable, realized outcomes.

  • Support internal and external partnerships to deliver innovative, best-in-class solutions that build upon existing offering to elevate Fannie Mae’s career development capability in close alignment with our enterprise strategy.

  • Maintain awareness of best practices and emerging trends across all aspects of career development including technology and research.

  • Drive continuous improvement through monitoring and measurement efforts.

  • Drive enterprise-wide marketing caigns to build adoption of career development opportunities.

  • Partner with key stakeholders to support the adoption of employee-driven career development and related behavioral and mindset shifts associated with successful adoption.

Qualifications *THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experiences*

  • 6 years related experience.

  • Experience designing and implementing Career Development strategies aligned with organization’s talent needs and business objectives.

  • Experience developing marketing caigns to drive adoption of enterprise career development programs .

  • Experience building and maintaining career path frameworks that enable development of business-critical skills and capabilities necessary for organizational success.

  • Experience with developing and delivering early career development programs for the enterprise.

  • Proven skill in delivering and developing innovative and strategically aligned talent development solutions.

  • Experience with multiple cross functional talent development and/or talent management roles (exles include, but not limited to performance management, succession planning, talent acquisition, workforce planning, workforce development, organizational development, etc.).

  • Proven experience operating in a matrixed environment.

  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.

  • Exemplary skill in partnering and collaborating with team members and key stakeholders to drive results.

  • Exemplary skill in adapting style and building consensus with client group leaders.

  • Exemplary skill in collaboratively addressing sophisticated problems and analyzing information from multiple resources to make business decisions.

  • Demonstrated expertise translating above to a digestible, audience-appropriate format including a cohesive story for executive and enterprise-wide communication.

  • Experience developing and managing external partnerships to support talent development programs (e.g., academic and/or vendor partners).

Desired Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

  • Experience with coaching (ICF, ATD, etc.), 360 assessments, and talent assessments.

  • Experience in UX (user experience) principles and application.

  • Advanced expertise in communication presentations.

  • Strong business acumen.
